FAQ: Acid/Alkaline Imbalance/pH Imbalances
What Symptoms Can Result From Being Out of PH Balance?

You may have one or more of the following symptoms. Osteoporosis, fatigue (this is one
of the most important and frequent symptoms of too much acidity in the body and it can be
quite severe) weakness, difficulty thinking or inability to think clearly, frequent sighing,
insomnia, water retention, high blood pressure, diabetes, fibromyalgia, frequent colds and
flu and other undefined conditions of malaise, recessed eyes, rheumatoid arthritis, muscle
cramps, joint aches, heart disease, high cholesterol, migraine headaches, abnormally low
blood pressure, acid or strong smelling perspiration, dry hard foul smelling stools or foul
smelling diarrhea which creates a burning sensation in the anus, difficulty swallowing, bad
breath, a burning sensation in the mouth, and or on the tongue, sensitivity to acidic fruits
and vinegar, bumps or sores on the tongue or mouth.

How Does One Get Out Of Balance?

There are many processes in the body that regulate the acid/alkaline balance, but one of
the most important is the role of calcium in the body. Calcium is the most prevalent mineral
in the body. For the body to function normally calcium must be at a sufficient level in the
blood. If it is not, calcium is released from the bones in an attempt to maintain the correct
level, but with a bad diet (acid forming) the body may lose ground and become more and
more acid. Insufficiency of calcium in the blood can lead to osteoporosis and a myriad of
other problems as described above in symptoms.

Of the possible causes of excess body acid the most important and common is an
unbalanced diet with too many acid-forming foods including meat or refined grains and
other processed foods, in other words the common American diet which is also very
deficient in calcium. This diet leeches calcium out of the bones. Other causes can be over
work, to much physical exercise, over eating and worry, stress, anger, fear, anorexia,
toxemia (the accumulation of too many toxins in the body from various sources), diabetes,
kidney disease, loss of fluid from vomiting or diarrhea, pharmaceutical drugs, alcohol other
than wine, and the use of tobacco. One effect of too much acid is depression of the central
nervous system making it hard to think well, quickly or clearly, or be decisive. As your
body becomes more acidic it can lead to coma & even death.
Is There Some Kind Of Test To Determine Acid/Alkaline Balance?

Yes, The way to determine the acidity or alkalinity of your body is to use pH test paper that will
indicate pH values of your urine and saliva. Most health food stores sell this kind of pH test
paper.

Note: the best time to test your saliva or urine for pH is first thing in the morning. If you test at
other times the reading will vary wildly and be unreliable due to something you have either
eaten or had to drink up to 2 hours before.

How to test? Work up some saliva in your mouth swish it around and spit it out or swallow it.
Then, work up some more saliva and simply wet the test paper with a little saliva. If testing
your urine, simply collect a small amount of it, midstream, in a small disposable cup. Dip in the
tip of the 1/2 to 3/4 inch strip of test paper in the urine. With both saliva and urine testing
read the color coded values on the box to determine your pH.

Keep in mind that the test scale is logarithmic or exponential that means that a one-unit change
in the pH in either direction represents a huge difference in acidity or alkalinity. Also, keep in
mind that if our body is very acidic 6.5 or less it may take 6 months to a year to bring it back
in balance and that is not going to happen it you don't supplement calcium and make changes
in your diet and life style as suggested below.

What Can I Do To Restore My pH Balance?

1. Take LifepH and LifeCoral Calcium supplements to more quickly change alkalize you pH.
Click here for more information about these two products.

1. Get at least one hour of unfiltered (don't wear sunglasses or even glasses) sunlight on your
skin and eyes daily. Sunlight is good for you. Don't be afraid of it. Don't stay out long enough
to get burned, but short of that go for it. Sunlight causes the photosynthesis of Vitamin D and
INSP-3 in your skin, both of which are critical to human health as they help raise the pH of the
body's fluids. Also, your pituitary gland and hypothalamus both need unfiltered sunlight in
order to regulate you appetite, sleep, body temperature, sexual functions, hormones, and
water balance.

2. To maintain a pH change you must change your diet. The main thing to do now and for the
long term is to modify your diet being sure to eat more alkalizing foods and less acidifying
foods. See the recommended food list below. Stay away from the acidifying foods as much as
possible until ph normalizes, then eat to stay in balance. Eating less and chewing it well is very
important. The enzymes in saliva help reduce the acid producing qualities in even acid forming
foods. You may want to consider eating miso. Don't eat more than 20 ounces of red meat in a
week. Don't drink carbonated sodas. Both Soda and Red meat are full of phosphates which
tend to leach out mineral nutrients. Eat white meat and fish which are both low in phosphates.
Eat plenty of salad with green vegetables, but only if you can digest it and tolerate it well. If
not see point 3. below.

3. Nothing changes pH more profoundly, quickly and safely than juicing. What you juice should
include various kind of green leafed organic lettuce, kale, and other vegetables as well as the
traditional carrots, celery and cucumber. Organic produce has 10 to 20 times the nutrition of
produce grown with petroleum-based fertilizers which has been sprayed with toxic pesticides
which kill beneficial soil organisms that contribute most of the nutrition to the produce.

4. There are a number of vitamins and minerals that you need and that can help. The most
important ones to immediately supplement in your diet are calcium, magnesium, and Vitamins
A & D. Calcium is found in green leafy vegetables among other places. The best calcium
supplement source for quickly alkalizing (normalizing your pH) (other than juicing as described
above) is LifeCoral. You can buy this from me for $29.95 for a (90 capsule) supply which will
last for a month if you are taking 3 capsules per day. However if your pH is very acid you
may need to take more. I have taken as many as 6 capsules a day, because my pH was
between 6.0 to 6.5.

We will tailor the quantities to suit your particular condition.

5. It is likely that you have a toxic overload in your body. Acid reduces the body's ability to
cleanse itself of toxic substances. Be sure to ask Dr. Eichenauer to do toxic load screening for
you. Toxicity in your body could be causing additional problems in your body. The problem is
that too much acidity causes degeneration of all your body systems. There are safe
inexpensive homeopathic remedies that can help the body detox.

6. It is also beneficial to improve your blood circulation. The main way is by exercising.
Walking is great, other forms of exercise are optional and effective. The main idea here is to
get your blood moving and increase your oxygen intake. Note: do not exercise to the point of
fatigue since that will only produce more acid in your body. Stop when you feel energized.
Note: if you have osteoporosis, walking is the key activity that triggers the bones to increase
their uptake of calcium to build new bone cells. You can reverse osteoporosis if you follow
these steps. You made need an herbal formula depending on what other symptoms
accompany your osteoporosis.

7. Practice deep breathing. Deep breathing alkalizes your blood. Here is one technique. Stand
up and take a deep breath and hold it and bend down like you are touching your toes. Exhale.
Stand up again while holding your breath do a few deep knee bends then inhale. Repeat this
several times until your fatigue goes away.

Here Are The Recommended Foods To Eat Depending Upon Your Condition.
If you are too acidic, avoid or reduce these foods:

High Acid Forming Foods: Alcohol (including beer, whisky and all other alcohols but wine),
asparagus, beans of all kinds, brussels sprouts, buckwheat, catsup & cooked tomatoes,
chickpeas, cocoa, coffee, cornstarch, cranberries, eggs, fish, flour and flour based products,
lentils, legumes, meat (any kind), milk (all dairy), mustard, noodles, oatmeal and all grains,
olives, pasta, pepper, plums, poultry, prunes, sauerkraut, shellfish, soft drinks, sugar and all
foods containing sugar, tea, vinegar, aspirin, tobacco, and most drugs are also acid forming.

And eat more of these foods:

High Alkaline Forming foods: Alfalfa and Lemons are very alkalizing & detoxifying, avocados,
cherries and cherry juice, corn, dates, figs (very highly alkalizing & detoxifying) fresh coconut,
most fresh fruits, most fresh vegetables (especially kudzu, onions, potatoes, rutabagas),
apples, grapefruit, vinegar, honey, horseradish, maple syrup, molasses, mushrooms,
strawberries, raspberries, raisins, soy products including soy sauce and miso, sprouts,
watercress. Note: Soy and Lima Beans are extremely alkalizing.

If you are too alkaline, eat more of the acid forming foods and less of the alkaline foods.
